English Lessons

The first thing out of Layla's mouth every morning is "I want some chocolate milk!" After the morning milk routine, I ask Layla what she wants for breakfast. She usually chooses one of three things:

"Two pancakes with LOTS of syrup on them"

"Oatmeal with sugar" (I gave her plain oatmeal one time--now she always remembers to specifically ask for the sugar kind)

or "Loop-de-loops"

This morning she wanted "Loop-de-loops"

Me: You want Froot Loops?
Layla: No...Loop-de-loops
Me: Froot Loops?
Layla: (sigh of frustration and annoyance) No mom. Look at my mouth. LLOOOOPP-DDEE-LLOOOOPPSS! (carefully pronoucing every sound)
Me: Loop-de-loops?
Layla: Yes, good job mommy (thumbs up sign)

This was hilarious! I swear kids are born with huge amounts of self esteem because they are always sure that they are right--all of the time. I wish I still felt that way as an adult.

Cute new blog template!
