California

I have been in California for the last week and a half visiting my family. Caton is still in Denver studying for the Bar--which he takes in less than 2 weeks--and the kids and I have been thoroughly spoiled by my mom, dad, and sisters. My sweet mom gets up with the kids at 6:30 in the morning so I can sleep in, my dad makes pancakes for us, and my sisters babysit so I can go places kid-free in daylight (usually my kid-free outings only happen after their bedtime)...I have had it good here! We have gone shopping a lot, had pedicures, and I have had the chance to work on my tan. It's been a great trip, but we miss Caton and we are glad to be going home to the norm in a few days.

After a great 4th of July BBQ and "home fireworks display," we went to Disneyland the next day. It was lots of fun and Layla's "dreams came true" by meeting Ariel and watching the princesses in the parade. We got to spend some time with my brother Matt and his fiance Belize (who I love love love!), as well as my two cousins Michael and Chandler who flew down for a few days to visit.

Last night my sisters and I (and a few other cousins) saw the 10:40 pm showing of Harry Potter. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! But I must be getting old because I was so tired that I struggled to make it through the 2 hour + movie--even though it was wonderful!

Jack is a hit with my family because he just flashes these amazing smiles at everyone and they give him whatever he wants. We buzzed his head the day before we flew out to California, so he is sporting a new do and he looks so cute!

And Layla is loving her grandparents and aunts who give her all the attention that her tired and frequently impatient mother fails to provide sometimes. It's a nice break for me to know that she is entertained and having fun.
