My New Favorite Thing!

So...my new calling is "ward craft specialist." At first I was a little disappointed because it sounds like one of those made up callings to involve as many people as they can in the ward. But now I am so excited. I get to put together craft activities once or twice a month for the Relief Society. As I started to brainstorm some fun activities, I came across my newest obsession...DECOUPAGE!

I am in love! I had never done it before, so I picked a few projects to test out. I had so much fun yesterday crafting that I got absolutely nothing else done. For those who have never done decoupage before...it's so easy and you can make the cutest things. Decoupage is really just gluing. You glue things like paper, or pictures, to wood, glass, tin, or really any surface and then you put a glue/sealant all over it (it's called Mod Podge) and let dry. Here are some things I made yesterday.

I love them! I want to decoupage everything in my house! And the best part is...all this is for my "calling"! I love it!

Anyway, I know I loved it, but would any of you be interested in doing things like this for enrichment? Also, what are some craft things you have done for enrichment/Super Saturday that you absolutely loved? I would appreciated any ideas!

I love decoupage!! I made earring holders by stapling a craft screen to the back of one of those wood craft frames, painted and decoupaged it...so much fun!! I add buttons and ribbon to the outside too.

I love decoupage too. I was wondering, did you use fabric or paper on the letters?

Ok, who gave you permission to move out of the ward! Especially right before I get put in as the Enrichment Leader, do you mind moving back and being My ward crafty person? I'll send you what we are doing for Super Saturday this October, we are actually doing the "Family" wood blocks too! I'm serious about the whole moving back thing;)
