Butterfly Pavilion

Today my friend and I took our kids to the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver. It was so fun! It was just small enough that it took about an hour to see everything, just empty enough to let Jack run around semi-supervised, and just close enough that I got Jack home in time for a long afternoon nap. The Butterfly Pavilion had a creepy crawly room with bugs and spiders, a mini aquarium with interactive tide pools, a huge ant, beehive, and scorpion themed play area, and--of course--the butterfly pavilion with hundreds of butterflies flying above, around, and sometimes into you. Layla loved it. I got a little creeped out in the bug room. No person who has ever lived in gross old apartment wants to see a boulder covered in giant cockroaches. And I--yes me, Michelle--held a huge, hairy tarantula named Rosie! Can you believe it? I am deathly afraid of all spiders. I even rewarded with a sticker for proof. Layla wouldn't come within 2 feet of it.
Overall we really had a great time and I think I get bonus mom points for taking my kids somewhere fun, educational, and out of the weather.
