I had so much fun hosting our book group last night. We read The Ladies Auxiliary by Tova Mirvis, which profiles an orthodox Jewish community in Memphis. It was a great discussion book--perfect for book group.
In the spirit of the book, I made completely kosher refreshments: challah bread, apple cake, bagels, cream cheese, and kosher pickles (nobody ate the pickles, but they were kosher). It was very interesting to learn a little more about what makes something "kosher."
And the challah bread was so delicious!! It's a little sweeter and lighter than regular white bread. I could really eat the whole loaf.

I'm so glad your book club went well--that book was one of our favorites, but you never know when you recommend books if other groups will like it too.
Challah bread makes amazing french toast too--it basically turn into bread pudding--yum!
