Happy Father's Day

Today was a typical Father's Day...I got up early with the kids and helped them make french toast to serve Caton in bed. Caton opened all his presents (most of which he will probably return--I cannot shop for that guy!). We sang "Happy Father's Day" and then went to church. Caton's dad was in town so he came with us to church and shared our Father's Day feast. It was a great day and I would feel ungrateful if I didn't share how blessed I feel to have so many amazing fathers in my life.

My dad is truly the "#1 Dad!" In my mind, my dad is perfect. I admire everything about him and I look up to him for everything from financial advise to spiritual guidance. He makes me feel special, talented, secure, and most importantly...loved. He has always shown us kids that he loves the Lord, his children, and especially my mother. He is the best example to me of what a father and husband should be.

Caton's father is another great example of fatherhood. I feel truly blessed to have married into his family--that my children have a grandfather who loves them, plays with them, loves their parents, and loves their grandma. Caton's dad is the kind of dad that would fly across the country just to give his son a blessing, and then fly home the next day. He is a good dad.

And Caton...when I married Caton I didn't really know where we'd end up or how we would support ourselves...I just thought he was good looking! And I knew that he was a hard worker and I KNEW he was going to be a good father. I was so right! From daddy-daughter dates to story time doing all the different voices to hours with Jack in the hall at church, Caton shows our kids everyday that he loves them. He is a righteous father (and not in the 90's surfer expression way) and I am so grateful for him.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers in our lives!

I have said this in another post, but I love this picture of my dad. You can just hear his signature laugh!

I took these shots today while Caton's dad was over. After dinner, Caton and his dad somehow ended up on the couch reading stories to Layla and Jack. It was a very cute moment.
