i heart IKEA

We have this funny little built-in shelf area right in our entry. It is completely awkward and basically useless. Our walls are whiter than white and I hated having all that empty space. I don't like a cluttered look, but I wanted to fill the shelves with things that were uniform but different. I got this idea from a pottery barn catalog and although it looks no where near as nice as the catalog, I am pretty happy with the results. I just got a bunch of frames from IKEA (aka the best place in the world), ordered a zillion pictures from Mpix.com (a photo printing company that I love, love, love!), and did a kind of different-sized-frames-leaning-against-the-wall layered look.

I am so happy that not only did I make good use of a stupidly constructed space, but I now have some of my favorite pictures on display.

Michelle,
It looks terrific. I can't wait to see it in person. Just today Erik asked me if I remember going to Lala's (no, not a typo, that's what he called her) house and could we go back so he could have another palydate with her.
I can't wait. Have tons of fun in Agoura. Tell everyone we say hi.

This looks great! IKEA is great for accessories. I've always wondered what took them so long to realize that Utah Valley was an ideal location for a store.

We will be in Irvine over this weekend so call us if you come down south. 949-726-8196.
