Layla's preschool had a field trip to Wheeler Farm today. It was a beautiful day, but that didn't help with the smell and the flies...I could never be a farmer. A few highlights:
We got to feed the geese. Layla broke her slice of bread in little pieces and threw them as far away from herself as she could so the geese wouldn't come too close. Jack ate his slice of bread and then tried to tackle the geese. He would actually hold out a chunk of his bread and as a goose came up to snatch it, he would take it away and shove it into his mouth.
We saw two donkeys getting a little frisky with each other. After a bit, it was strongly suggested that we come back later as their activity may not have been appropriate for preschoolers.
We got to watch wool be spun into thread by a man in a kilt...a little random.
At each animal's pen, Layla would need reassurance that the animals could not get out. Jack, on the other hand, went straight for each gate and tried to undo the lock.
It was a fun little trip but since I still smell like manure, I don't think we will be back anytime soon...
