temples...

Last night we took the kids to the Draper Temple open house. Since moving to Utah, Layla has been very curious about temples. It may be her age or the fact that we have three temples within 10 minutes of our house. One of those is literally down the street (the Oquirrh Mountain Temple will be finished this summer) and we are the only city in the world to have two temples (the Oquirrh Mountain and Jordan River temples). We see temples every day and almost every day Layla asks me about them. Last night was a great opportunity for us to answer some of her endless questions.

The temple was beautiful. Even though it hasn't been dedicated, I could feel that this was the house of the Lord. Layla and Jack were so well behaved and I could tell Layla really loved being there.

Towards the end of the tour, we were ushered into a sealing room and two of the ushers talked about some of the blessings of the temple. As we stood in front of the mirrors in the sealing room--Caton holding Jack and me holding Layla--I could see my sweet little family reflected over and over again. What a special moment to see our family symbolically extended into eternity. I remember the day Caton and I stood in front of the mirrors in our own sealing room. To see what we have accomplished since that day reflected in a similar room was truly a rewarding moment for me.

I love the temples. And I am grateful for their proximity. Not only are they easily accessible but seeing them everyday is a constant reminder to me to do better. I feel so blessed to have such beautiful, sweet little kids and to have a husband that I want to be with forever.

We are truly blessed.
