nurf guns and allergies

This week we have been very busy. Here is our latest:

Layla is obsessed with The Littlest Pet Shop toys. They are very cute but very small with super tiny--easily lost--pieces. She did all her chores, got 20 chore stickers, and picked out a purple owl at Target.

Jack is obsessed with his Nurf gun. He is not strong enough to hold it and pull the trigger. Instead of shooting it himself, he loves standing across the room as the human target for me to shoot. He will have me shoot him over and over and over...until I pretend to lose all the foam darts.  (Below are photos of Layla and Jack taunting me to shoot them).

Caton's story is the most interesting of the week. He has been allergic to shellfish for many years, but about six months ago he discovered he could eat lobster and shrimp without any reaction. Thinking he outgrew his allergy, Caton has been enjoying shrimp and lobster for many months now. Well..last night I made shrimp. And...last night I also took Caton to an urgent care.

About an hour or so after dinner, Caton's face puffed up and his entire body was covered in hives. I have never seen an allergic reaction that bad. He's asthmatic and so I became overly concerned and rushed him to get medical attention.

Apparently he is still allergic to shellfish. The pictures don't even capture how bad it looked. The hives on his arm were how his entire body looked (but he won't let me post those pictures).

Wow. That is one serious allergy! My uncle thought the same thing and then he almost died because of thinking he was over the allergy. They had to shock him back to life. Glad you got there in time. And hope Caton stays away from it from now on!
