Loved our Fourth this year. Caton took the kids camping friday night and I relaxed with Isaac at home. Amazing how quiet my house can be without you-know-who asking me a million questions and talking my ear off. The kids roasted hot dogs and smores, rode atvs, and got really really dirty. Is there anything better?
We celebrated our holiday on Saturday night with snappers and fireworks. I think we have the best fourth of july house ever. We are the only house on our cul-de-sac so we had the street all to ourselves for fireworks. Also, we are up on a hill that over looks the valley. We had a awesome view of at least four firework shows. We put Isaac to bed, set up chairs outside, and enjoyed everyone else's efforts. It was great.
Once again I am reminded of how blessed we are to be Americans. I hope my children realize how fortunate they are. We have so much - freedom, the gospel, food, shelter, opportunity - we are very very blessed. And I am grateful for all those - past and present - who have preserved those blessings.

I love that picture of Layla with Isaac. Also, I remember when Jack wore the same jacket Isaac is wearing. Man, I feel old!
