My mom always told me that going somewhere with the family was a "trip" and going somewhere with just your husband was a "vacation." And that usually after your "trip," you need a "vacation." Lake Powell this year was definitely a trip. Very fun, very busy...but a lot of work.
Here are the highlights:
-Days of water and sand for Layla and Jack. They were in heaven.
-Layla surprised me with interest in cliff jumping and wakeboarding. It seems that my shy little girl likes a little bit of adrenaline.
-Jack played so hard everyday that he fell dead asleep in the most interesting places: on the ski boat and on the waverunner...twice.
-I can still wakeboard.
-We had some very entertaining games of Monopoly and Greed.
-I love my brothers and sister's new spouses and girlfriend. So much fun to have a full boat of just our family.
-Ice cream at Dangling Rope Marina. The ice cream isn't even that great but the kids thought it was just the most delicious treat.
-Taking Isaac swimming for the first time.
-Getting tan.
-Reading books.
-Campfires.
-Being entertained by Jack (example: he became the gatekeeper and asked us for the password every time we got on and off the boat)
-Celebrating Great Grandma White Hair's 77th birthday and Matty's 26th.
-Being with my family.
-Watching my kids have fun.
