Isaac wakes up at 7:15. I get him a bottle, change his diaper, and put him back in bed with Caton. I wake up Layla and help her choose an outfit. Then we brush teeth and do her hair. Jack wakes up in the middle of this and goes to snuggle with Caton and Isaac. I pour bowls of cereal and call for Jack to join Layla for breakfast. He yells back that he only wants chocolate milk in a sippy cup. I yell back that even though he asks for it every morning, he cannot survive on just chocolate milk. He eventually gets out of our bed and sits next to Layla. I put Isaac in his high chair and pour a handful of cheerios in front of him to keep him occupied. He laughs and slaps the table with both palms- sending cheerios flying. Layla and Jack become distracted by Isaac and forget to eat until I remind them that we are in a hurry. After I make Layla's lunch and set her backpack and jacket aside, I mix up some rice cereal for Isaac and sit down to feed him. Layla and Jack are distracted once again and I remind them what exactly the definition of "hurry" is. Layla finishes every last bite of cereal, clears her bowl, and gets the scriptures from the bookshelf. Jack claims that he has a tummy ache and begs to be done eating. After he clears his bowl, he asks for a snack. We read scriptures and I praise Layla on doing such a great job reading. Jack always says the prayer and as he finishes, we hear the honk of Layla's carpool ride in the driveway. Caton and I give her kisses, I remind her to choose the right, and she leaves. I finish feeding Isaac, tell Jack a second time that he cannot have a snack, sweep up the cheerios, and begin the rest of my day.
This morning Jack was cold so he ate his breakfast on the kitchen floor, near the vent. He is eating a "pine" - which apparently is short for pineapple...which is what Jack calls pears. He's a very odd little guy.
