i don't know why...

I can't seem to pick up my camera these days. Maybe it's because May was so cold that it made me grumpy. Or maybe it is because June is so much warmer and now I'm lazy. Either way, I don't really have any new pictures to share.

I do have a funny little story:

Today at dinner - after Jack spilled his drink clear up and over his shoulder - we decided to create some FAMILY MEAL TIME rules with the kids. I got pen and paper and we discussed how we should behave and what the consequences of breaking the rules should be. We explained to the kids that because we all came up with the rules together, we should all know what they are and accept the consequences when we break them.

Here's what we came up with:

HANSON FAMILY MEAL RULES

1. Sit on your bum facing the table
2. Try one bite of everything
3. You get to choose how much food you eat but remember that THERE ARE NO SNACKS AFTER DINNER.
4. We don't have to have dessert every night
5. Don't talk with your mouth full
6. Chew with your lips closed
7. No goofing around
8. No crying at the table
9. Say please and thank you
10. No toys at the table
11. Clear your plate

CONSEQUENCES

First rule broken: You get one warning
Second rule broken: You have to stand in the corner facing the wall for 2 minutes
Third rule broken: Another warning
Fourth rule broken: Go to bed

(I don't know if we will be able to enforce all these consequences but that's what the kids came up with.)

Here are a few things that didn't make the list:

Rule: Don't wipe your boogers on the table
Rule: Don't fart at the table
Rule: Don't sneeze and fart at the same time

Consequence: Stick your head in the toilet
Consequence: Stick your eyeballs in the toilet
Consequence: Never get to eat again

My kids are lovely, aren't they?

How funny I have just been thinking I need to do this with Shayla - I think she is old enough to "help" with the rules! Thanks for the inspiration!
