4th of july - los angeles style...

Went to LA for the fourth this year. So nice to have all my siblings there and we all had a good time - although it was hot hot HOT! Lots of pool time, beach time, mall time, and fire pit time. Did I mention we were out in the pool a lot? Our days went something like this:

Wake up sweating

Go running (only so we could eat more during the day)

Jump in the pool

Eat breakfast

Jump in the pool

Shower out by the pool (septic tank issues)

Get dressed

Change mind and get back in the pool

Eat lunch

Con someone into watching napping kids while the rest of us shop or get pedicures

Nap with all the pregnant women (there are quite a few - although I am not one of them)

Wake up sweating

Jump in the pool

Eat dinner

Sit around outside by the pool cause California nights are so wonderful

Roast marshmallows with the kids

Stay up way too late

On the way to LA, we stopped in St. George overnight. I took Layla and Jack to see The Little Mermaid at the Tuachan Ampitheater and it was so wonderful!! So beautifully done. The kids LOVED it! Then we stopped in Mesquite to see Layla's bestest friend Shayla be baptized. Loved seeing all our good friends from law school, HATED the heat. blah.

These aren't as tack sharp as I would have liked them, but I still think they turned out great. Good looking bunch, right?

And - no, mom - Jack wasn't smiling in any of them. This is the best one of the bunch. Little stinker. :)

Belize took this one of Isaac by the pool. Isn't he just the cutest? I could die.
