April 1 was not only the first day of April (duh!) but it was also a day of firsts for my little munchkins.

Jack had his first rice cereal. After going through all the firsts with Layla when she was a baby, I thought my excitement was just over the top because I was a first time mother. But when Jack scrunched up his nose, pushed the runny rice cereal in and out of his mouth, and let it dribble down his round chin, I was just as emotional as I had ever been with Layla. I love being a mom!

Also, Layla wrote her name completely for the first time. The A is sideways and the Y is upside down, but she couldn't be more proud of her masterpiece and neither could I. My little girl is growing up so fast.
