My friend Cassaundra has inspired me to keep a list on my blog of books that I have read recently. I love reading and I have loved our book group that has survived the last year and a half. What would I do without a good book every once in a while...
Here are some good reads from the past year or so:
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
If you didn't read this book in school...go get it today. I love this book!!
The Memory Keepers Daughter
Good book club read. Lots of discussion.
The Knitting Circle
Interesting and good for discussion
The Time Traveler's Wife
SOOO fascinating but please beware of a few...um...not so uplifting parts.
The Magic of Ordinary Days.
Such a good book. So cute and made into a cute Hallmark movie for those who love the Hallmark channel like me.
Abundance
Historical fiction...the best invention ever! I love history but I get so bored with non-fiction. This was a great narrative of Marie Anntionette. Very interesting.
Currently I am reading:
The Kite Runner
and
Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood.
(If you haven't read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, you are missing out. Such a cute coming of age book. Nothing too deep, but sometimes I like a good lighthearted read. Plus I love series books and there are now four books to the Sisterhood series.)
Let me know if you have any good book suggestions. Happy reading!

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my all time favorites. I've read it three or four times because it feels like an old friend.
Just finished Kite Runner. It seriously made me think more than any other book I've read in a long time. I'm still mulling it over in my head. At times this book was so painful for me to read I wanted to stop reading it, but the characters' dilemmas were so gripping I couldn't put it down. It totally expanded my view of the Afghanistan conflict too.
Good list!!
P.S. - Aren't book clubs the best??!! We should have had our own little mini one back in Agoura :)
