To celebrate the end of the bar and all the stress that accompanies it, Caton and I took the kids to Boulder which is about an hour north of where we live. We walked along Pearl Street Mall (an outside shopping street) and took Layla to Color Me Mine. She painted a dolphin (or "dol-friend" as she insists it is really called) and Caton and I choose to paint plates. Actually, I choose to paint a plate...Caton was forced to paint a plate. (If we are going to pay for these things, might as well pick something we are going to use).
Later we took a drive into the mountains and finally experienced a bit of Colorado's famed beauty. It was a little rainy, but I think it made everything even more beautiful. The kids were so patient as Caton and I "oohed" and "aahed" much over the scenery. They really were good because our drive took almost 3 hours. We had a great time as a family and I hope that we will have even more great family trips now that Caton is done with school, studying, and tests forever!
