So...Layla is in ballet and I seemed to be the only mother who did not buy their daughter a ballet skirt or tutu of some sort. Feeling guilty, I asked Layla if she would like a skirt or tutu. Of course she said yes...so I decided to get creative and make up for my "bad mom" mistake and become the BEST mom. I chose to make Layla a tutu. SO MUCH FUN! So easy and so cute! I love the little tutu I made and was so excited for Layla to wear it. I thought she would be so into it, but today before ballet Layla made a face as I brought out the tutu.
Layla: I don't want to wear THAT mom!
Me: Really?! It's so cute
Layla: Um...no thank you! (another face)
Me: But...but...I think Sleeping Beauty wears a tutu like this...
Layla: I think I still don't want to wear it
I was so sad. I brought it to class anyway, and halfway though class Layla had a change of heart. It made me so happy to see Layla enjoy something I had made.
I tried to have a little photo shoot after class. I told Layla to do some ballet moves, but I think she took it a little too seriously. She looks like she's concentrating VERY hard.

I'm glad Layla decided she liked it after all. I thought this was such a good idea that I ended up making one for Elise. They're so much fun I just might make myself one too.
