So....Caton and I had a fun date last night...waiting for three hours at the Children's Hospital to find out if Layla's arm was broken. Layla fell off a couch earlier in the day and would not move her arm or let me touch it. First I took her to her pediatrician, who thought it was "nursemaid's elbow" which is when the forearm pops out of the elbow. After they tried to set it, her pediatrician recommended that we go to the Children's Hospital for x-rays. After many tears, ice cream bribes, and x-rays, we finally found out that her arm was NOT broken. Layla was still in obvious pain, so they concluded that her elbow most likely had been dislocated or sprained. So after hours of waiting, we were sent home with Motrin, a sling, and the anticipation of a fun little hospital bill.
Anyway, that was the beginning of our fun weekend. Tonight we are getting a babysitter and going out with some friends so I think we can salvage our date night after all.
