another year...

Yesterday was the perfect birthday. Caton took me to fun little restaurant in SLC's temple square called The Roof and then we did a little birthday shopping at the Gateway mall. My real birthday present came earlier in the day...I had a consultation to see if I was a good candidate for LASIK. Turns out that I am and I have actually scheduled my surgery for the week we get back from Lake Powell. I am super nervous (I sweated all through the exam just thinking about the surgery) but this will be life changing. My vision is so terrible that I can't even get close enough to the mirror to see clearly enough to put on makeup--my nose gets in the way. I can't even comprehend the convenience of seeing clearly in the middle of the night or when I first open my eyes in the morning. Hopefully all will go well and I will finally FINALLY be able to see.
