this week...

...Layla started preschool. She was a little apprehensive about it, but her teacher seems great and I think she will love it. As for me, three hours a day with only one kid equals easier errands, a little free time during naps, and an overall quietness that--although I love Layla's constant stream of insightful comments and questions--will be a welcome break in our normal routine.

(I love this picture...I told the kids to hug and smile, but they both look like they are holding on to each other for dear life!)

...I got a new calling--in cub scouts! Not only am I new to the world of scouting, but today at our den meeting I realized that I have absolutely nothing in common with 8 year-old boys. I desperately struggled to seem "cool" to these boys feigning a love for karate, football, and treasure hunting, but I think they just thought I was lame.

...I have been fighting a losing battle with my newest archenemy--the ANT! I hate all of them, they hate me...they must all die!

...Caton is out of town. So to cope with the typical early evening boredom, I weeded our entire front yard by myself and took some cute pictures of Jack.

Hey, Go Layla! that must be exciting for her...and You! gotta love new callings. haha. I am not going to lie, I would feel the same way you do. I am more into the creative side of life with the scrapbooking, craft projects, chick flicks and girly colors. It would be hard to turn to..well, whatever 8-year old boy do for entertainment. I am sure you will figure it out and it will be fun. We can't wait to see you guys! See you soon!
