snow, books, and kindergarten

I hate snow. The only thing I hate more than snow is driving in snow. So as this week has stormed on and off, I have been content to stay at home as much as possible. I made the mistake of opening up Twilight on a particularly boring afternoon and found myself totally engrossed (yet again) in Edward and Bella and their vampire world. I finished all four books in a matter of days. Pathetic, I know, but it is what it is...

One small event this week: I signed Layla up for kindergarten. Not a big deal really, but it was one of those moments when I felt like it all is happening way too fast. We'll see how I do when she actually starts. I have been telling people that I am excited for her (and for me) to get out of the house for a few hours each day, but will I really be that ready to let my little baby grow up?

Okay, yesterday when I was dropping Shayla off for kindergarten for the 100th time, I cried. Yep. How many times have I done it? Yea, I am still not ready to see her grow up. Just seeing her bounce away as she ran to school, waving and saying "bye, mom!" just pulled at my heart strings. It happens way too fast.
