My new year is off to a very relaxing start. Because it is cold and there are still several inches of snow on the ground and because Layla is not yet back in school...we have been sort of hibernating. We have spent the week playing, reading books, cleaning, and doing anything that keeps us from having to go outside.
We spent new year's eve with some friends and had a great time eating good food and barricading the kids down in the basement. They hardly ever came up stairs so we got have some quality adult conversation...a nice change from the ordinary I-can-barely-finish-a-sentence-because-my-kids-are-constantly-needing-something events.
I am excited for the new year. We already have what seems like a million things planned for this year and I am excited for every one of them.
I feel bad because I didn't send out a Christmas card this year. I meant to...I really did. I got our pictures taken, I wrote out our little family update, designed a few cards to choose from, and then...it just never happened. I think I got so wrapped up in how our card was going to look that I became indecisive and then just never made a decision. I have loved every single one of the Christmas cards that we have received and I just want to apologize for not sending you one in return. Maybe next year...
Today I attempted to take a few shots of the kids playing together. Jack not only ignores me when I pull out my camera, but also does everything he can to hide his face. I tried my best but I could only get a few of him looking at me and even fewer of the kids smiling together. If only all kids could pose like Layla...she is my favorite little model.
