just life..

This week has just been...I don't even have the word. "Annoying" maybe? I hate to complain about the little things but that is exactly what this week has been about...the little annoying things that make me frusterated and seem to always result in a headache.

Like for instance, I dropped Layla off at school today and set off to do a million errands. Almost immediately I decided that I deserved a nice lunch today. Cafe Rio...my favorite! I ordered  a delicious pork salad to go and finished the last of my errands with happy anticipation for my meal. About half way through my salad, I found a considerable sized bug of some sort in one of the lettuce leaves. I threw away the bug and determinedly ate a few more bites to prove to myself that one bug was not going to spoil the lunch I had been craving all morning. It didn't work. I literally felt sick as though I had actually eaten the bug, had to toss my barely touched salad, and vomited as soon as I got home (involuntarily...I just couldn't stop thinking about the bug). Needless to say Cafe Rio is ruined for me...at least for a while. I am so sad because that really was my favorite lunch.

My other headaches with week include being sick, having sick kids, poorly adjusting to stupid daylight savings, accidentally serving dinner that contained shrimp powder (Caton is very allergic to shrimp) and then freaking out upon realizing that I could have killed my husband. But by far the biggest headache of my life for the last month or so has been dealing with our insurance company. Insurance is definitely not one of the perks of Caton being self-employed. I hate insurance companies and I am pretty sure they hate me.

Add this all up and I just feel tired. Luckily my parents are coming into town tonight. Hopefully I can get enough distraction this weekend to adjust my poor attitude and remember that my life is actually a pretty good one.

I don't know how insurance people sleep at night . . . don't even get me started!

Have fun with your parents!
