What can I say about Disneyland...

It's magical yet stressful. The kids love and hate it. They whine like crazy while waiting for a five minute ride, but as soon the ride is done they forget all about how long the line was. The excitement makes them emotional and tired but if they leave the park with a toy, they remember the day like it was the best day ever.

Our day was a lot like this. My mom watched Isaac at home and so it was just me, Caton, Layla, and Jack. We hit very little traffic on the way from Agoura to Anaheim. We got to the park early and had a leisurely breakfast in Downtown Disney. We walked on rides all morning - zero lines. Jack loved Pirates of the Carribean so much we went on it 3 times. Layla preferred the Haunted Mansion - also rode it 3 times. They loved the Jungle Cruise - another 3 timer. Layla braved Indiana Jones (sadly Jack wasn't tall enough) and Jack rode Big Thunder Mountain twice - once with me and once with Caton (Layla did not care to try it out). Finding Nemo was the longest wait (30 minutes) and Layla met with fairies and got her face painted and we all watched Jedi's fight.

By afternoon, it got HOT and there was a little whining going on. There was also a little threatening, bribing, pleading, and two separate trips to the Disneyland First Aid Station for Advil. But we finally sat down for a bit in the shade and after some rest and some ice cream, it seemed that we would all somehow survive.

It started cooling down in the evening and after dinner and the light show, we started to head home. Jack fell asleep after dinner but not before he made sure that we would buy him the light saber he'd been eyeing all day. Layla picked out a Belle barbie and we were on our way home.

And of course, the next day all the kids could talk about was their amazing day at Disneyland. I had a great time too but one day at Disneyland is plenty for me.
