Spring is finally here (for reals this time, I think...)! And Saturday we planted our very first trees. Not just the first trees in our yard, but the first trees we have ever had.
I am pretty excited about them. I have idyllic visions of them all grown with kids playing underneath the gorgeous spring blooms...it's going to be so lovely. I know they are small and will take forever to grow, but I just feel excited to finally put down some roots (cheesy pun intended).
Of course Caton was just a little bit annoyed with me when I came home with four trees from Costco. Somehow my grand projects always end up on his honey-do list. This one was no exception (what do I know about planting trees anyway?). He did it all and he was a good sport about it. Jack helped dig, Layla helped water, Isaac climbed up and down the front walkway, and I did what I do best - gave unsolicited advice and took pictures.
