I am so overwhelmed with pictures of this trip. I uploaded almost 2000 pictures to my computer and now I am spending every free moment sorting through them and picking out my favorites. It's turning out to be very difficult.
Here are a few of my favorites from Day 1 and 2 of our Peru Trip. After a fabulous 24 hours of airports and airplanes, we arrived in Cusco, Peru a little delirious (everything seemed extra funny). We checked into the Hotel Monasterio - a beautiful renovated monastery - and after some disgusting herbal tea, breakfast, and a little nap, we set out to explore the city. Most important event of the day: Caton introduced us to Inca Kola - a bubble gum flavored soft drink that tastes like medicine, but for some reason is THE drink of Peru. Caton could not talk about it enough.
On Day 2, we hired a taxi and drove all around the Sacred Valley exploring Inca Ruins and Indian markets. Lots of colors, lots to buy, lots of seriously adorable Peruvian children (I think I'm going to adopt), and lots, lots, LOTS of stairs. For some reason, the Inca's liked to build stairs. Lots of stairs. We had our first real peruvian meal and while Caton and Levi downed alpaca stew, Rachel and I stuck to chips and guacamole (which I don't think originated in Peru). I wasn't a huge fan of the authentic peruvian meal.
More to come about the rest of the week.
Be prepared for a massive amount of photos.
