After exploring Cape Town, we flew to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. We only stayed 2 days but we did a lot. The first day we watched Levi bungee jump on a bridge over the Zambezi river. The Zambezi river lies between Zimbabwe and Zambia, so we walked over to the Zambia side of the bridge to watch. After bungee jumping watching (Caton and I said no to another bungee), we walked over to Victoria Falls. The falls were amazing and beautiful. We came at the beginning of the wet season, so although the falls had lots of water, they weren't at their fullest. It would be amazing to see the falls at their highest volume.
The next day, while the boys rafted the Zambezi, Rachel and I went for an elephant ride. The african elephants were so cute (weird word to describe an elephant?) and the ride was oddly relaxing -- a lot of rocking back and forth. Our guide was knowledgable but every time he gestured with his arms, I thought I was going to pass out from his BO. Seriously, it was bad.
After the elephants, Rachel and I had some more time to kill so we went on a helicopter ride. This was a serious bucket list item for me. I have ALWAYS wanted to ride in a helicopter. We paid $125 for exactly 13 minutes of flying time. Worth it? Yes. The views of Victoria Falls were amazing and I finally have satisfied the itch to helicopter.
That night, we drove over to Zambia for dinner getting another couple lovely stamps in our passports.
