busy...

We have just been so busy, I hardly have time to take pictures let alone blog.

Here's what we have been up to this week...

-Missing my mother-in-law. I was so spoiled to have her for three weeks. We had a lot of fun and I think she should come back...soon!

-Lots of time at the splash pool! This is the best thing in my life right about now. It's literally right across the street from our house. I bring a camping chair and a book and will read for hours in the shade, glancing up periodically to check on the kids playing in their 18 inches of water. It's cool and relaxing and gets Layla and Jack really tired by the end of the day (which is ALWAYS a good thing).

-Sleeping in. I really have the best kids in the world. First of all, they usually don't get up until about 8. And second, they can amuse themselves for another hour or so before their pleas for chocolate milk and toast become too desperate to ignore. I typically like spend this time lounging in bed reading. It's heaven!

-Trying to figure out something good to watch on TV at night while Caton is out of town. All husband business travel should be limited to fall and winter--when the good shows are on. It should be a law or something...

-Singing with Jack and Layla. Jack is obsessed with "I Love to See the Temple" and "I am a Child of God". He knows all the words and sings them loud and clear. Which is ironic because Jack is probably one of the hardest kids to understand. If only he could speak as well as he sings. Mother Layla usually sings Jack to sleep every night. Most of the time it is some made-up-on-the-fly type song about butterflies and love and children, but tonight she serenaded Jack with "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands." Don't know where she learned that one, but I'll admit it was pretty good.

-Getting ready for the Fourth of July! We have some fun guests coming and I am super excited for all we have planned.

Well, there it is...not super exciting. Actually, probably incredibly boring for anyone but me. But that's what our life is like. And I love it!

Well, I am glad to know that we are considered fun guests. I love the idea of the splash pool. May I join in the camping chair and reading fun? Can't wait to see y'all!
